Hunting Clothes for Women That Aren't Pink Camo

Over the last few weeks here at See3D, we have been contacted by a number of female hunters asking about our 3D camo suits. They have been asking about sizing, but not whether it comes in pink.

In fact, talking to one or two of them, it seems that the whole pink camouflage movement has not been that appealing to women hunters. A Field & Stream survey reported that 61% of female hunters dislike the idea of pink camo, with responses including: “misogynistic, bogus, -patronizing, barf, blech, hate it, meh, whatever”.

Female Pink Camo

At the same time, a number of states have legalized pink camo as a replacement for orange. Something does not add up, perhaps most of the legislators that passed those bills were men?

Many women seem to be offended by pink, and I suspect the reason is a subtle one.

It’s not that women don’t like pink, it’s that they are frustrated by manufacturers thinking they need a special color.

Heck, just make the same color pattern used by men's hunting clothes with female fitting and sizes. How hard is that?

After fielding these questions from interested female hunters, we are talking to our manufacturer about expanding our size range. Our suits are worn on top of clothes, and the orange camo pattern covers up what is underneath. This means female hunters can wear whatever they want! Maybe even, gasp, outdoor clothes designed to fit women!

Our current smallest size is Medium/Large, designed for a 5' 6" - 6" height. We suspect that camo suits for women would be about 6” smaller, we’d love to hear from female hunters with feedback on that sizing. Email us at huntorange@see3dcamo.com

The leafy suit produced by this small start-up company is designed to be invisible to deer but visible to human hunters. The base is a suit of blaze orange, but the bright background color is subdued by shards of shaggy camouflage. Designer Barrie North says the suit is designed to promote hunter safety in the deer woods.

Camo Suit Sizing

Our Camo Suits are cut baggy and designed, if needed, to go over the top of other clothes.

For example, here in Vermont late deer season can get cold with snow on the ground, so our suits are cut to wear a warm coat underneath.

Our sizes are organized by height:

If you are hunting in an area where you won't be layering, then these sizes can be ordered as is.

If you anticipated layering bulky clothes or are heavier for your height, then consider a size up.
